Sub User

Go to Simple Storage > Sub User in the left menu.

A Sub user is different from an IAM Account

Sub user is a concept specific to Simple Storage — a secondary S3 identity used to issue Access Keys with limited permissions, that cannot sign in to the Portal. It is not the same as a sub-account under IAM (that kind of account can sign in to the Portal and carries its own role/permissions across the whole system).

Create a Sub User​

Click Tạo (Create) to open the Sub user mới (New sub user) dialog:

  • Tên (Name) — a self-chosen ID (e.g. subuser_id_xxx), not an email address.
  • Quyền (Permission) — pick one of 4 levels: Chỉ đọc (Read only), Chỉ ghi (Write only), Đọc & ghi (Read & write), Toàn quyền (Full control).

Create Sub User dialog

Click Lưu (Save) to create it. The new sub user then appears in the Sub user dropdown when creating a new Access Key.

Edit and delete​

  • Click the edit icon to change the Quyền (Permission) — the Tên (Name) field is locked and can't be changed after creation.
  • Click the delete icon to remove a sub user; the confirmation dialog shows the exact name being deleted — just click Xoá (Delete), no retyping needed.
