Resize the VM
When resource demand goes up, upgrade vCPU, RAM or grow Storage straight from the portal — no need to recreate the VM.
Changing vCPU/RAM (Resize) requires the VM to automatically shut down and reboot. Save any in-progress work first.
Resize vCPU and RAM
Step 1. Open the Thay đổi cấu hình tab
Open the VM detail page → click the Thay đổi cấu hình (Resize) tab.

Step 2. Pick the new plan
Open the CPU & RAM dropdown and pick the right plan. The Order summary panel on the right shows the current flavor and the new flavor so you can compare before confirming.

Step 3. Confirm
Click Confirm. The system stops the VM, applies the new configuration and boots it back up.
When the VM is Active again, check the new configuration in the header of the detail page.
Grow the Storage capacity
Both system volumes and attached volumes can be grown — see Resize a volume.
- vCPU / RAM: can be increased and decreased to a smaller plan if needed.
- Storage: grow only. Shrinking a volume is not supported.
When to resize?
| Signal | Action |
|---|---|
| CPU usage consistently > 80% | Bump up vCPU |
| Free RAM < 10% | Bump up RAM |
| Disk usage > 80% | Grow the volume |
| Short-lived load spike | Consider a Load Balancer instead of scaling up |
